SIRUSA (Servei d’Incineration de Residus Sòlids Urbans, SA) is a public company, located in Camp de Tarragona. It is dedicated to the exploitation of the facilities of the energy recovery plant. Currently SIRUSA provides services to the municipalities of the three counties that make up Camp de Tarragona (60% of the total population of the province).

Specifically, the services that have been awarded to us are:

• The implementation of the project to renew and improve the fire protection system of the urban waste recovery plant.
• The calculations and sizing of the LV installations for the pump room and power circuits of the alarm and detection centers.
• The documentation for the construction license, construction management and CSS.

We are very pleased to be able to participate in this project promoted by SIRUSA. A few months ago we published this article on our expert blog “Fire safety in waste treatment plants”. In this article we reflected on the complexity of managing fire protection in this type of facility. And we pointed out the need to establish more elaborate solutions than conventional ones. Being able to put our knowledge of fire engineering into practice in projects like this is one of the tasks that most satisfies us as professionals.
